Christmas Window Displays
(downtown Spokane)
From 1917 until the early 1980's, the former Crescent department store at 707 W. Main, displayed beautifully animated, moving scenes in all of their large windows.  These scenes are being restored, and displayed once again during the Christmas season.  They can be seen in the windows of places like the Davenport Hotel, Davenport Flower Shop, and Whiz Kids on the 3rd floor of River Park Square.  Children are captivated by the many animals, elves, gnomes, children, and Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus on display.  (To participate in this restoration and conservation effort, call the downtown Spokane Partnership at (509) 456-0580.
