Our mission is to provide battered women the opportunity to momentarily step out of their crises and to learn how to garden and farm in the urban setting.

We aim to do the following:
  • To provide peaceful settings in which the women can safely reflect on their situation,
  • To provide these women with useful skills, such as gardening, farming, and functioning in a business setting, and
  • To provide these women with mentors that can reinforce their newly-attained skills.
Volunteer Opportunities:
  • Is there a portion of your yard that is not being used?
  • Do you have a space, approximately 4′ x 10′ or larger, that you’re willing to share with our program?
  • Can you help build garden boxes or fences?
  • Do you have small livestock that you're willing to share with a program participant?
  • Could you help mentor women on gardening or selling product?
  • Would you like to eat fresh food and enjoy flowers?
  • If so, contact us:  Info@SWFarms.org.
