Resources to Initiate Successful Employment (RISE) is a three year pilot program to assist the chronically unemployed remove barriers to their employment. Clients who choose to participate in RISE will receive comprehensive case management, personal development classes, work based learning, and opportunities for job placement with our business partners.
In order to qualify, a participant must be receiving food stamps, but not receive a cash grant (TANF); and live in Spokane, King, Pierce, or Yakima counties. However, the program is a research study, and some participants may be referred to BFET as part of the randomization process.
Do they associate with one of these categories? Veteran, limited English, unemployed longer than 12 months, homeless, or a non-custodial parent owing in arrears? If the answer is YES....
Do they meet any of the following criteria/barriers? Mental/physical health, domestic violence, chemical dependency, child welfare, criminal history, learning disability, lack of transportation, no license, special needs child, or skills deficiencies? If the answer is YES...
