Purpose:
Citizen volunteers assist law enforcement in securing their own public safety.

S.C.O.P.E. is a separate entity from the Sheriff's Office. SCOPE is a Spokane County Nonprofit organization with more than 500 active volunteers at 18 substations, dedicated to crime prevention on the neighborhood level. A board of directors manages SCOPE through a director who is a civilian working full-time with SCOPE. Director Rick Scott is credited with turning around one or our region's most crime-ridden communities.
