(a program of Transitions for Women)
Provides food, showers, support and a warm place to stay for homeless women. The Women’s Hearth is a safe, welcoming community that promotes growth and well being in body, mind, and spirit for women of diverse backgrounds. The Center fosters nurturing relationships, encourages self-determination, and advocates for change in systems that oppress women.
Over 100 homeless women drop in each day to get food, shower, search for a job, and receive help breaking the cycle of poverty. We served more than 1,000 women in 2011, with more than 20,000 visits.
