Mother's Day
is a celebration honoring mothers and motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society.

Please be sensitive to women who struggle to hide their sad feelings on Motherís Day.  Motherís Day can be a day of pain and suffering for those who feel the pain of having lost custody of their children through the choices they have made.  Some women are unable to bear children and carry an emptiness deep within their hearts.  Some women have been waiting for years to adopt a child.  Some women carry the regret of abortion.  Some mothers feel alone and abandoned by their children.  Some women long for their babies and children who have died.  Some children and adults long for their mothers who are no longer living.  (For all who carry heavy burdens, we refer you to the Inspiration topic on this site.)

Help all women to know that their true worth is measured by their heart, not their womb.  Countless are the women who have taught, nurtured, encouraged and loved children who are not their biological children.

Reasons to thank the women
who have loved, mentored and mothered you.
