Posted by: Crescendo Community Chorus

Crescendo Community Chorus began hosting the Dilworth Choral Festival in the spring of 2014. The festival is named for its original conductor and benefactor, Rollo Dilworth, who has published over 150 choral compositions and arrangements and conducted over 50 specialty choirs around the world.

It is with great honor that Crescendo Community Chorus welcomes Sandra Thornton to lead the 2019 Dilworth Choral Festival. Sandra is currently the Assistant Artistic Director of the Cincinnati Children’s Choir and serves as the Artistic Director of the CCC Satellite Program. She sings professionally with the Cincinnati Vocal Arts Ensemble. Sandra received her Master’s Degree in choral conducting from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and currently serves as the Children’s and Community Youth Choir Repertoire and Standards Chair for the Central Division of the American Choral Directors Association.

Ms. Thornton will bring her wealth of experience and skills to share with Crescendo Community Chorus as well as singers from several middle schools in the Spokane and Medical Lake school districts on Saturday, March 9th. The days' activities culminate in a concert for the community on Saturday, at 4:30 pm in the Shadle Park High School Auditorium. The community is invited to come and show support for children’s choral music in Spokane.
