Children Who Are Sick

  • Cheer up a sick friend.  Visit with, make a phone call, or send a card to a friend who is sick.
  • Make a Get Well Card.  Send cards to children and adults who are sick.
  • Heart Pillows.  Ask a children’s hospital if they would like some special pillows for children who have undergone open heart surgery.  The children hug the pillows to their chest when they cough or sneeze to reduce discomfort.  Use your imagination in making the pillows—possibly in the shape of a heart, out of a soft flannel fabric, with soft batting.   Ask the hospital if the pillows can be sterilized to avoid infecting the patients with any germs.
