Family Traditions can create
opportunities to teach and
build a foundation for future growth.
- Family traditions do not have to be big events. They can be small moments in time, little rituals to strengthen or create emotional bonds.
- Decide as a family what
traditions you may already have which you want to change. In blended
families, choose both previous traditions as well as unique new ones
- Build memorable traditions by doing things together as a family when possible, such as:
holidays, holiday meals and holiday treats
placing flowers on family graves
service to others
teach children to sew
teach children to cook
popcorn and movies on Friday night
uninterrupted meals together as a family. At dinner, each family
member relates their happiest, saddest, and most meaningful events of
